Why is the 2020 MTNA National Conference Cancelled?

The health and safety of conference attendees, competitors, exhibitors, MTNA staff and others involved in the MTNA National Conference was our paramount concern. The potential health dangers of large public events made it impossible to hold the event and guarantee a safe environment.


Are all ancillary events associated with MTNA cancelled as well?

All ancillary events and receptions are also cancelled in Chicago. Details about those meetings, as well as other association related meetings will be announced at a later date.


Will paid attendee registrations be refunded?

In response to this unprecedented situation, MTNA leadership has revised the published policy and will refund registration fees in full for attendees. As this is an unanticipated cancellation, MTNA is working through this process as quickly as possible and appreciates your patience during this time. More information on refund processing and options will be communicated via email and published on the website in the coming days.


Will exhibitors be refunded for booths and showcases?

In response to this unique situation, MTNA leadership has revised the published policy and will refund exhibitor booth space, showcase fees and additional badges purchased in full. As this is an unanticipated cancellation, MTNA is working through this process as quickly as possible and appreciates your patience during this time. More information on refund processing and options will be published on the website and communicated to exhibitors in the coming days. MTNA cannot refund shipping, fees for services arranged through Fern Expo or any other expenses beyond exhibit and showcase fees paid to MTNA.


Can my registration or exhibitor fees be credited to future conferences?

No, MTNA is unable to apply your fees to future events.


Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded for hotel costs?

No. MTNA will not refund hotel costs. Attendees and exhibitors should cancel hotel reservations as soon as possible to avoid any fees. Reservations at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile cancelled less than three days prior to their confirmed arrival date are subject to one night’s room rate plus applicable taxes.


Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets?

No. MTNA will not refund individual airline ticket costs. Please contact your airline directly regarding ticket cancellations. If you purchased travel insurance, please contact your provider for information and next steps.


Will the 2020 MTNA National Conference be postponed until a later date or rescheduled?

Meetings the size of MTNA are scheduled years in advance, with numerous people involved in the planning, as well as careful coordination with cities large enough to accommodate thousands of people at once. Because of this, it is highly unlikely that the event will be rescheduled this year.
